A C19th grade 2* listed, 5-storey private house between Brompton and Cromwell Roads close to South Kensington underground station, it also lies in the Thurloe Estate and Smith’s Charity Conservation Area.

The aim was to make the most of the possibility of using the house as one dwelling or as a dwelling with the possibility of the connected lower ground being kept separate and distinct, as the owner required and as guests came to stay. Artworks were integrated including careful posting and additional structure to support a 2ton solid timber door from India.
